Wilma L. Morphet

Wilma L. Morphet, 90, of Royal Center, passed away at 8:14 a.m., Monday, March 26, 2007 in Woodbridge Health Campus, Logansport.

Born December 22, 1916 in Washington, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Rho Delia Keil Schmaltz. She was a 1934 graduate of Washington Illinois H.S. On January 1, 1941, she married Carl L. Morphet at Royal Center. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2005.

A homemaker, Mrs. Morphet was also very active in church activities, such as helping with Kids Club, and she taught many different age groups in Sunday school. She had been active in the former Royal Center E.U.B. Church before the merging with Royal Center United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Royal Center United Methodist Church; Logansport Rose Society and a founding member of the Society with her parents; Boone Twp. Extension Homemakers; and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are one son, Richard L. Morphet, Barrington, Illinois; one daughter Carla Bishop(Michael) Carmel; and one grand-daughter Amanda Nicole Morphet, Palatine, Illinois.

She is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Elmer V. & Harlan K. Schmaltz.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Royal Center United Methodist Church, Royal Center. Rev. Greig D. Crowder will officiate. Burial will follow in the Indian Creek Christian Cemetery, Lucerne.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28 at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Royal Center, and one hour before the time of service at the church on Thursday.
