Virginia (Rans) Agnew

Kewanna

Virginia Agnew, 91, of Kewanna passed away at 10:55 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Hickory Creek Healthcare of Rochester.

Born on February 6, 1928 in Kewanna, she was the daughter of the late Delbert Roy and Ethel Faye (Rouch) Rans.

She was a 1946 Kewanna High School graduate.

On May 31, 1947 she married John M. Agnew, Sr.  He preceded her in death on February 14, 2006.

Virginia worked in the office at Kewanna Metal Specialty’s retiring in 2003 after 42 years.  She was a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Tomerlin (Ed) of Hebron, sons, John Agnew, Jr. (Pam) of Rochester and Greg Agnew (Jackie) of Hendersonville, Tennessee,  grandchildren, Jarrod Agnew (Amy), Jeremy Agnew (Angie), Joshua Agnew, Jeffrey Agnew (Tina), Kirsta O’Hern, Eric Tomerlin (Michelle), Erin Tomerlin, Kim Hunter (Jeff), Robert Plantz (Vanessa) and Kelly Barquin (Alfredo) and great grandchildren, Shayna Agnew, Kayleena Agnew, Alexis Agnew, Zachary Agnew, Ashlyn Tomerlin, Jacob Tomerlin, Megan Tomerlin, Raeann Hunter, Caleb Hunter, Lucas Barquin, Sophia Barquin, Serena Ham, Alexander Plantz, Ava Nicole Brantley, Mia Agnew, Brody and Brayden Tomerlin.  She is also survived by 2 great great grandchildren, Blaine and Nolan Edgar and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by great granddaughter, Brittany Agnew, brothers, Joseph Rans, Larry Rans, Lowell Rans, Paul Rans, Billy Richard Rans, Delbert Roy Rans, Jr., Pete Rans, Hubert Rans and Harold Rans and sisters, Ethel Stipp, Lorene Wood, Helen Worl and Lois Jean Bell.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Kewanna United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be at Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Kewanna.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kewanna United Methodist Church and/or the Kewanna Food Pantry.
