Vada A. Berkshire, 93 of Royal Center passed away peacefully at 6:37 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Astral at Franklin Healthcare in Franklin, Indiana.

Born on April 8, 1932 in Logansport, she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Mathline (Cooper) and Edgar Sloop.

She was a Royal Center High School graduate.

Vada worked for many years as a cook in the cafeteria at Pioneer School Corporation and RBM in Logansport.

She was a member of Baptist Christian Church. She served for several years as a volunteer for the Crusaders.

Survivors include her children, Tim Berkshire of Royal Center and Valerie Ranee Fisher (Steve) of Franklin. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Richard “Dick” Berkshire, parents, sons, Michael Berkshire and Richard Berkshire and daughters in law, Lori Berkshire and Sandy Berkshire

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St, Royal Center. Burial will be a private ceremony at a later date.
