It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tracy L. Knackmus of Logansport, Indiana, who passed away on April 30, 2025, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
Tracy was employed as an Inspector at EIS Fibercoating, Inc. In her past time Tracy enjoyed attending Nascar races, and watching Nascar on TV when she couldn't attend. Tracy was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears
football, she would watch them faithfully. Tracy's nieces Nicole "Toll" and Natalie held a large part of her heart. Tracy had an unbreakable bond with her sister Terry the two were inseparable. She enjoyed music as well,
"The song is over, but the melody lingers on."
Tracy lived in Logansport, Indiana with her partner of 30 years Steve Pugh on Pottawatomie Road. Tracy and Steve made their home on the Wabash river a sanctuary filled with peace and solitude.
Steve's best way to describe Tracy is "Tracy was just Tracy, she was my Winnie. Tracy was my baby, my tiny strong fighter". Steve will forever cherish the 30 years they had together, "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal."
Tracy fought illness for many years before she passed, her Dr's called her a walking miracle. Tracy never gave up fighting during her last years of life, she was the epitome of tiny but mighty.
Tracy was a huge part of the Pugh family for 30 years; she was always up for good conversation and laughs during the family get-togethers on the riverbank. Families would find themselves between Steve and Tracy's home and Steve's parents house during the annual "July weekend" when families came from everywhere to spend a weekend enjoying laughs, conversation, & making memories.
Every Christmas Eve Tracy celebrated a tradition with her mother Sharron and her sister Terry as Sharron would read "Twas the Night Before Christmas". Tracy cherished this special time listening to her Mother read,
though she was hours away she felt as if she was right there with them. This tradition continued all of Tracy's life not one Christmas was missed, and Tracy treasured that time spent with them.
Tracy was From West Salem, Illinois where her mother Sharon Knackmus, sister Terry, and nieces Nicole "Toll" and Natalie reside. Tracy was blessed with family in West Salem IL and Logansport IN.

Psalm 143:8
"Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for you to lift up my soul."
1 Corinthians 13:2-7
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire their loved ones, keeping Tracy's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While their presence may be gone, their impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
