Shane William Denny, 48, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on

September 28, 2026, surrounded by his daughters, mother, and sister.

Shane was born June 7, 1978, in Logansport, Indiana, to Roscoe “Rocky” Denny and

Judy (Denny) Nies.

Shane had a free and wild spirit and was happiest outdoors. He loved riding his

motorcycle—his “wind therapy”—as well as mushroom hunting, fishing, and

landscaping. He was the kind of guy who could figure out just about any way to make a

dime and could work on nearly anything with a motor. Motorcycles, snowmobiles,

cars—you name it, Shane would tinker with it, fix it, trade it, or find a way to make it run.

His hands were rarely clean, usually covered in grease or dirt from sunup to

sundown—a reflection of a man who wasn't afraid to work hard or get his hands dirty.

More than anything, people will remember Shane's sense of humor. He loved making

people laugh, and those who knew him loved that most about him. His jokes, quick wit,

and the things he probably shouldn't have said—but said anyway—were simply part of

what made Shane, Shane.

Above all, Shane loved his family. He was the father of his daughters—his

“Girls”—Dylanee Denny, Adessa Denny, and Tiara Denny, and his son, Brantley Denny.

He was grandfather to Amalyah Miller, Mahala Miller, Aleiyah Miller, Dyshelle Denny,

and Zeppelin Hurston. Amber Woolever, mother of Brantley, held a special place in

Shane's heart.

Shane loved his mom with all his heart. He may have caused her more than her fair

share of stress and certainly gave her plenty of reasons to worry, but there was never

any question how much he loved her. No matter how old he got, Shane was a momma's

boy through and through.

From the day he was born, Shane also had a best friend who always had his back—his

big sister, Stacey. Through the good times, the bad times, the laughter, the trouble, and

the heartache, Shane knew his big sister would always be there.

Shane is also survived by his bonus siblings, Jenny Purciful (Frank), Bob Nies

(Jennifer), Joe Nies, and Megan Dillman (Dustin); his nephew and lifelong buddy, Tyler

Spencer; his niece, Trista Russow; and his special aunts, Corrie, Carol, and Linda, and

his special cousins, Kim and Kathy, whose love and support meant so much to Shane

and his family.

Shane was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe “Rocky” Denny; granddaughter,

Dannielle Smith; grandfathers, Ike Denny and Richard Martin; grandmothers, Dorothy

(Denny) Thompson, Ruby (Martin) Garbison, and Florence Denny; and aunt, Janie

(Martin) Klawinski.

Forty-eight years was not nearly enough. Shane lived with a free spirit, worked with dirty

hands, loved the open road, loved his family fiercely, and never passed up an

opportunity to make someone laugh.

In the roar of a motorcycle, the quiet of the woods, a pair of grease-covered hands, and

especially in the sound of his family laughing, there will always be a little bit of Shane.

Services for Shane will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2026 at Rans Funeral Homes

& Crematory, Harrison Chapel in Royal Center.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

Shane will be laid to rest beside his dad, Roscoe “Rocky” Denny, at Davis Cemetery in

Burnettsville, Indiana.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family to help with Shane’s final expenses and monument.
