Services for Roy M. Jones, 88 , Star City, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center.
Roy passed away at 6:35 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2008 in Woodbridge Health Campus, Logansport.
Born on October 17, 1919 in Star City, he was the son of the late Orville E. and Zedda Mae (Brown) Jones. He was a 1938 graduate of Lucerne High School. On February 2, 1942 he was married to Helen M. Clary, she survives. He was a member of Star City United Methodist Church. Roy was a lifelong dairy farmer in Pulaski County.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, Star City; two sons, Sammy K. Jones (Pam), Star City and Rex E. Jones (Connie), Indianapolis; two daughters, Joan Z. Marks (Dick), Indianapolis and Susan Machata, Lake Whales, Florida; one brother, Loren Jones (Ginny), Ft. Wayne; one sister, Mary Lou Parker (Verdele), West Lafayette; 10 grandchildren, Debbie Applegarth (David), Scott Marks (Jamie), Morgan Jones, Joshua Jones, Christy Coon (Craig), Ryan Jones, Amy Jones, Michael Machata (Juliana), Mathew Machata and Jessica Machata; 6 Great Grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas and David Applegarth, Cooper and Layla Marks and Sophia Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Landis, Max and Mark Jones.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the at the Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 304 South Chicago St.,Royal Center, Indiana.
Burial will be in Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center with Pastor Dave Sommers officiating.
