Ronald William Wheeler, 73 of Lucerne passed away at 7:06 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 16th, 1944 in White Lake, Wisconsin to the late Lester and Bertha Wheeler. Ron was a 1963 graduate from White Lake High School, Wisconsin
Ron served his country in the United States Air Force from July 23, 1963 to July 21, 1967 and served two tours in Vietnam
Ron married Vicki Sutton on July 1st 1967 at Williams Air Force Base, Arizona. Ron and Vicki had Three children; Jeff Wheeler born in 1966, Christopher Wheeler born in 1970, and Robert Wheeler (adopted) in 1984.
Ron worked at Texas Instruments in Texas, as an electronic technician from 1968 to 1970 and then move to Mesa Arizona. Where he was employed at Empire Machinery for Caterpillar until 1998. In the year 2000 Ron moved to Indiana.
Ron and Vicki were foster parents to medically fragile children from 1978-1998 Loving and helping the children no one else would take and ended up adopting their son Bobby. Ron helped and come to dearly love Vicki’s family as his own. Ron was very close to his mother in law Gloria Jean Sutton who precedes him in death.
Ron loved tinkering around with anything that had a motor. He loved gardening and took pride in helping others by giving out the vegetables he had grown to family and friends. Ron enjoyed many hours swinging with son Bobby. Ron was a giving man always helping others. He would give you the shirt off his back. Ron also was an avid Nascar fan, his favorite driver was Tony Stewart.
Ron is survived by Vicki Wheeler, Son Cristopher and Bobby Wheeler all of Lucerne. Two Brothers; Kenneth Wheeler – Ashland, Wisconsin and Loren Wheeler, Hortonville, Wisconsin. Two Sisters; Laurel (Susie) Allen of Neenah, Wisconsin and Linda Edwards Antigo, Wisconsin, several nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Shelby Wheeler, Harley Wheeler, Christy Wheeler, Ronald L. Wheeler
He is proceeded in death by; his parents, son Jeff Wheeler, two brothers; Eugene Wheeler, Clifford Wheeler, two sisters; Judy Wheeler, Elmire Clay.
Per Ron’s wishes there will be no visitation or viewing. There will be a Celebration of Life Service next summer.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home & Crematory.
