On August 8, 2026, Roberta M. Warren’s prayers were answered as she passed peacefully to join her loved ones in Heaven.

Roberta was born May 19, 1934 in Medaryville to Frank and Lora (Hilton) Kirkwood. She graduated from Medaryville High School in 1952.

On March 8, 1953 she married David F. Warren and together they had 3 daughters, Sandra Capper of Indianapolis, Pamela Burger (Jack) of Winamac and Janice Elaine who has preceded her in death.

The Warren’s resided in Winamac their entire married life. Roberta worked in the Winamac Elementary School cafeteria, Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac Cleaners and Laundry and Eaton/Controls Corporation.

Roberta and David built a house on the river in the mid 70’s and enjoyed the location and quiet country living.

She rejoiced in her membership at First Christian Church serving as President of the Dorcas Circle, singing in the choir and being a deocanate for many years. She was also a member of the Monroe Modern Homemaker’s Extension Club, Tippecanoe Twirlers and Extension Choir. She loved her lunches with the Quilt Ladies, her Eaton friends and her Friday night dinners with her special girlfriends and many family events with the Bailey’s. Roberta enjoyed being with people and laughter. Being able to drive herself to wherever she was going was especially important to her.

She was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Karen Capper Steuer (Matt) of Indianapolis, Christopher Capper of Indianapolis and Karla Burger Rausch (Justin) of Thorntown and 9 great grandchildren, Jackson, Mia, Katelyn, Liam, Grant, Miriam and Oliver Steuer and Sam and Molly Rausch. She loved them all very much and enjoyed attending numerous sporting events, musical concerts, plays and musicals and special holiday family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lora Kirkwood, parents-in-laws, Floyd and Nora Warren, husband, David, daughter, Janice and several aunts, uncles and friends.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Winamac Chapel.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Graveside services will be at 9:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2026 at Winamac Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Winamac.
