Services for Robert M. Hettinger, 70, of Logansport, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.

He died at 12:40 p.m.,Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in Millerchr(39)s Merry Manor, Logansport.

Born November 19, 1937 in White County, Indiana, he was the son of the late Edgar R.and Josephine O. (Layer) Hettinger.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Bob retired in 2001 from Federal Mogul in Logansport after 33 years, he was an avid Ham Radio Operator and he enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He was a member of American Legion 60 and V.F.W. 37, Logansport.

Surviving are one daughter, Leann Duez, Danville, Illinois; four brothers, Homer Hettinger and his wife Virginia, Star City, James Hettinger and his wife, Jeannie, Richard Hettinger and his wife, Judi and Thomas Hettinger and his wife, Haley, one sister, Mary Tutterow and her husband, Raymond, all of Logansport. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ronald Hettinger and one sister, Virginia Hettinger and two brothers, Paul and David Hettinger.

Pastor Dirk Raderstorf will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., Friday, July 4, 2008 at the funeral home.
