Logansport

Richard N. “Dick” Kistler, 86, of Logansport passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born on January 17, 1934 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Chester and Catherine (Newmyer) Kistler.

He is a 1952 Logansport High School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Dick was a lifetime member of All Saints Catholic Church and was known to deliver communion to residents at local nursing homes. He was a recipient of the Pharos Tribune’s “Good Neighbor Award in 1987.

He was formerly employed at LDI.

Survivors include his nephews, Thomas Smith (Vikki) of Logansport, James Smith (Connie) of Kokomo and Michael Smith (Annette) of Lafayette.  He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and also great great nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Kistler, Jack Kistler and James Kistler and sisters, Elizabeth “Libby” Smith and Mary Catherine Pumphrey.

Due to the new Federal and State restrictions, Dick's visitation and funeral Mass will be private.

Burial with Military Rites will be performed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to All Saints Catholic Church.
