Rendell H. Lawson, 85 of Rochester walked home with Jesus at 3:36 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 20, 1939 in Garrett, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ed and Harriett (Salisbury) Lawson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1956 to 1959 in Korea. After his years of service he worked as a general superintendent and spent most of his career working for McMahon-O’Connor and PACE Construction.
He was an avid gardener, outdoorsman, musician and devoted father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle and friend.
Rendell was a proud member of Denham Freewill Baptist Church and loved sharing the love and word of Jesus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anna (Moore) Lawson, children, Venita Peterson (Dwight), Huey Lawson (Vicki), Anthony Lawson (Jacquie) and Dawn Holtmeyer (Scott), daughter-in law, Cheryl Lawson, brother, George Lawson and sister, Brenda Turner. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his son, John Lawson, his parents, grandchildren, Taylor, Sterling and Kingsley and brothers, James Estel Lawson and Jimmy Lawson.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Winamac Chapel, 110 N. Sally Dr., Winamac with Rev. Mike Noble officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the funeral home.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Fulton Cemetery in Fulton, Indiana.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
