Ralph “Pete” Christiansen, age 78 of Lucerne, stubbornly passed away at 8:12 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2024 at Chase Center.
Born on July 10, 1945 in Lucerne, he was the son of the late Elmer and Betty (Smith) Christiansen. Survivors included his wife and high school sweetheart of 60 years, Gloria (Hardy) Christiansen of Lucerne, his three hardworking sons, Troy Christiansen, Clint (Akemi) Christiansen and J.R. (Tina) Christiansen, grandkids, Peyton and Ava Christiansen, Derek (Tessa) Beeler and Corey (Amanda) Beeler, great grandson Freddy Beeler and special nieces Trisha (Dennis) Schuster and Shanna (Darin) Ellis. He is also survived by a whole bunch of brothers/sisters in law and a slew of nieces and nephews who also enjoyed coming out to his farm over the years. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Chris and Glen Christiansen. Pete was a graduate of Lucerne High School, Class of 1963, where he was President of his very large class of seven brilliant kids. He married his high school sweetheart on March 21, 1964 and they soon began their family together. He worked many years at Wilson Meat Plant, was a salesman for Moormon’s Feed Sales, and farmed the same 80 acres that his Dad farmed before him having a choice of using over 60 tractors over the years. He was a whiz in his shop and he could fix pretty much any mechanical problem on his tractors and cars, on top of maintaining their appearances by fixing them up with tin, bondo and coat of paint and layers of wax. Unfortunately, his boys never achieved his level of mechanical and carpentry skills. Pete loved going to Flea Markets, especially Strawtown and I-80, where he always found the best price for the items he wanted. He enjoyed camping and boating with his family and taking multiple cross country trips over the years, mainly to visit his sons. He was a collector of toy cars, trucks, trains, tractors, and “naughty girly art.”
