Phyllis Jean Wall, 89, went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband on
November 20, 2024, at Chase Center Nursing Home. Previously she lived in her dream log home in Brown County.
Born on September 5, 1935 in Rockville, she was the daughter of Joe Jones and Rosemary & James Crisler. She married the love of her life, Vernon Wall, on November 24, 1951 in Danville, KY.
Phyllis loved to spend time with her family. She loved to paint and was a beautiful artist. She loved sharing her talent with her family and friends. For many years, Phyllis & her painting friends painted quilts for Riley Children Hospital. Phyllis loved to travel all over the United States; one of her favorite places was Yellowstone National Park. Phyllis’ favorite holiday was Christmas. She looked forward to decorating her log home with her over 1200 Santas including her treasured Santa ornaments. She also loved camping with her family and friends.
Phyllis retired from JoAnn Fabrics where she managed several stores and was an avid seamstress.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Vernon Jr. (Teresa), Jana Strathmann, Andra Tribbett (Allen), Margaret Walls (Don Rushing); her grandchildren: Megan Games, Chris Brock, Melissa Angeley, Jay Walls, Lauren Merritt, Mary Weissenfluh, Jennifer Miles, Anngela Love, Paul Strathmann II, James Strathmann, Adam Walls, Katrena Tribbett, Nicholas Tribbett, Barbara Gary, Stephanie Hutsell, Mary Crisostomo; her dearest friends: Janice Hicks, Tony & Barb Soesbe; 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by: her beloved husband of almost 72 years, Vernon Wall; sons – David Walls and Steven Walls; daughter-in-law – Debra Walls; son-in-law – Paul Strathmann; grandson – Darrell Walls; parents – Rosemary & James Crisler; and her yorkies – Reese, JaJa, and Levi.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 10:00am at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center. The visitation will be an hour before the funeral. Burial will be at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom at 3pm.
