Patricia “Patti” Ploss, 62 of Star City passed away unexpectedly at 8:06 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Parkview Logansport Hospital.

Born on June 19, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Stoner) Cornell.

On July 11, 1998 she married Anthony “Tony” Ploss.

Patti was currently working at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport. She enjoyed caring for others and had a special place in her heart for people who needed kindness and compassion the most. 

Patti loved her family fiercely and was known for being both loving and protective of the people she cared about. She enjoyed long walks with Joey, the family dog, and never forgot the street cats around Star City, making sure they were fed whenever she could. She was a devoted Detroit Red Wings fan and a passionate writer, proudly authoring and publishing seven books. Patti believed deeply in lifelong learning and was proud to graduate from the New York Institute of Art & Design with certificates in Event Planning, Personal Style, and Creative Writing. She loved the fall season, and Halloween was always her favorite time of year.

Survivors include her husband, Tony Ploss of Star City, daughter, Rachel Ploss of Sarasota, Florida and son, Dawson Ploss of Star City.

 She is also survived by many loving family members and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, David Cornell.

Patti’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2026 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
