Omer Ray Clark

Omer Ray Clark, 90, of Bruce Lake went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born to the late Dee and Myrtle (Riggs) Clark on December 27, 1927 near Medaryville.

Omer Ray married Martha Ann McEwan at Medaryville Christian Church on August 5, 1951.

Omer Ray graduated from Medaryville High School in 1946 and from Purdue University with a degree in Agriculture Economics in 1951.

He was a farm operating loan officer for 40 years with Production Credit, First Union Bank and Trust in Winamac and Peoples State Bank at Francesville.

Omer Ray lived on a small farm, where he raised sheep (always), pigs, cattle and his special friends, his dogs and miniature horse.

He was very active in community activities: served as Treasurer for many years on the Pulaski County 4-H Fair Board; Pulaski Memorial Hospital Board; Pulaski Children’s Welfare and Abuse Committee; several agricultural committees and projects. Omer Ray served as Master of Ceremonies for many meetings- noted for his humor and ability to tell a story and be able to often make it a teaching moment. He wrote a column every week for the Pulaski County Journal entitled “Ole Omer Says”. He was a loyal, avid fan of Medaryville Black Horses, West Central Trojans, Purdue Boilermakers and St. Louis Cardinals.

Omer Ray was a member of Kewanna Church of Christ.  He loved the Lord’s church and both of his church families. He served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, Youth Director, etc. at Medaryville Christian Church for many years.  After moving to Lake Bruce he, also, served as elder and Sunday school teacher at Kewanna Church of Christ. Omer Ray loved to enjoy and admire God’s creation.

Omer Ray was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Ann Clark of Bruce Lake, two sons, Larry Clark of Noblesville, Terry Clark (Debbie) of Lebanon, two daughters, Linda Clark of Sturgis, Michigan and Debby Litke of Indianapolis, grandchildren, Matthew Clark (Jainie), Melinda Hite (Jake), Aaron Clark (Jennifer), Amanda Crussel (Mike), Allison Blunk (Jason), Levi Clark (Brittney), Erica Reinfeld (DJ), Brooke Towns, Evan Litke (Brenda) and great grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, Cooper, Paxton, Theo, Caleb, Wyatt, Micah, Cara, Titus, Mekayla, Gavin, Logan, Emilee,

He was also preceded in death by brother, Eldon Clark and 1 great grandchild, Lauren Clark.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Kewanna Church of Christ with Pastor Aaron McCombs officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kewanna Church of Christ and/or Taking Christ to Millions Mission.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home & Crematory, Kewanna Chapel.
