Kenneth “Wayne” Hurlburt Sr., 84 of Thornhope, passed away at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at his residence.

Born April 30, 1932 in Fulton County, he was the son of the late Lovell and Frances (Engle) Hurlburt.

On December 2, 1950, he married Elizabeth R. Moss. She preceded in death March 27, 2008.

He was a US Air Force Veteran.

Wayne formerly worked at Wilson Food’s in Logansport and retired after 23 years.

He enjoyed pitching horse shoes in Royal Center League and he was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include his children, Keith Hurlburt (Lynda) of Winamac, Kenneth Hurlburt Jr. of Thornhope, Ron Hurlburt of Thornhope, Randy Hurlburt of Thornhope and Laura Schneider of Winamac, brother, Chester L. “Son” Hurlburt of Texas and sister, Patricia Branson of Winamac. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by son, Kevin Hurlburt, brother, Phillip Blaine, sister, Catherine Wright, sister in law, Ida Hurlburt and brother in law, Carl Branson.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2017 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor David Norris officiating.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 26 at the funeral home.

Burial with Military Rites performed will be at Victor Chapel Cemetery in Star City.
