Julie (Martin) Helton

October 28, 1972 — August 18, 2015

Julie (Martin) Helton, 42, of Logansport, passed away at 10:36 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 28, 1972 in Bremerhaven, Germany, she was the daughter of David and Joyce (Whitehall) Martin.

Julie was a 1990 graduate of Logansport High School and she was a 2001 graduate from Indiana University School of Nursing.

On September 22, 2007 she married the love of her life, Matthew Helton.

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

Her passion in life was taking care of others, where her career began at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.  She was also formerly employed at Logansport Memorial Hospital where she worked in ICU, Riverview Hospital in Noblesville and IU Health in Lafayette.

Survivors include her husband, Matthew Helton of Logansport, her parents, David and Joyce Martin of Logansport, sister, Kay Parker (Clay) of Lafayette, brother, Jason Martin (Jennifer) of Monticello, mother in law, Lori Helton of Peru, sister in law, Megan Helton of Peru and nieces, Shelby Parker and Alena Helton and nephews, Nolan and Brock Martin and Derek Parker.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Francis and Irene Martin, maternal grandparents, George and Betty Whitehall and father in law, Darrell Helton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015 at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Dominic Petan officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2015 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice, Logansport.
