Joseph David Loner

Services for Joseph David Loner, 68, Buffalo, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in All Saints Catholic Church.

He died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007 at his residence.

Born March 4, 1939, in Logansport, he was the oldest son of Joseph W. and Ruth M. (Stewart) Loner.  He was married on June 13, 1959, in St. Josephchr(39)s Church, Logansport, to his childhood sweetheart, Patricia Lee Wolf, who survives.

Mr. Loner attended grade school at St. Josephchr(39)s and graduated in 1953.  He was a 1957 graduate of Logansport High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society.  He was a quarterback for the Logansport football team, where he was Most Valuable Player his freshman year, All North Central Conference his junior and senior years, All State Quarterback his junior and senior years, and High School All-American his junior and senior years.  He also was the L" Club President and member of the LHS baseball team and American Legion baseball team in Logansport.

He was a 1962 graduate of the University of Detroit Detroit Michigan where he earned and AB degree in math.  He was a member of the football team Titans and was a member of the Titan Football Hall of Fame as well as a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

He was a computer technician data processing manager consultant for Peat Marwich Mitchell Indianapolis and Arthur Andersen and also was CFO of L.S. Ayers.

He has been a private math tutor for students in the Monticello area since 2002 and worked part time and played golf at Pond View Golf Course.

Dave was a football coach for St. Lawrence Middle and Junior High School in the Indianapolis CYO League for 10 years.  He also coached basketball for a few years.

He attended All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport and Lady of the Lakes Church in Monticello.  He was a member of the Piscataway New Jersey Jaycees the Indianapolis Downtown Lions Club the Indianapolis Menchr(39)s Bible Study Fellowship for 10 years and a member of the Monticello and Logansport Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed golf woodworking boating and flying.  Dave had his private pilots license with instrument and commercial ratings and loved to fly.

Also surviving are two children one daughter Stacey Lee Patterson and her husband Justin Lawrenceville Georgia and one son David M. Loner Buffalo; five grandchildren Jerra Lee Loner Joshua David Loner Jacob Michael Loner Cody Spitler and Joseph Michael Loner; and brothers and sisters Paul Jim Tom Mariel Mark and Ann.

His parents one brother Vinny Loner and one sister Angela Loner preceded in death.

Father Michael McKinney will officiate at the services.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Marocco Funeral Chapel.  A Scripture Service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family and will be divided between Focus on the family Indianapolis CYO Sports Program and Food for the Poor.
