George Edward Watts, 78, of Logansport passed away peacefully at 2:26 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
Born on March 6, 1945 in Lake Cicott, he was the son of the late George Washington and Lena Ellen (Boocher) Watts. He had lived in the Logansport, Indiana, area most of his life.
George was a 1963 graduate of Burnettsville High School of Burnettsville, Indiana. He was a mechanic for over 50 years and a proud United States Marine Corps veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict.
George did not know a stranger. He enjoyed playing billiards, going on nature drives, mushroom hunting, fishing, antique cars, watching Purdue basketball, and watching local high school basketball and football.
George was a loving and devoted father to his four children, Angie, April, Brandi, and Jami, and despite being divorced, George’s commitment to his children was unwavering. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and the families they have built, and his memory will live on through them.
Survivors include daughters, Angie (husband Steve) Titus of Logansport, Indiana, April Watts of Logansport, Indiana, Brandi (husband Bill) Geisbert of Bradenton, Florida, and Jami (husband Jason) Godard of Byrnes Mill, Missouri; 11 Grandchildren: Jimmy, Sevenz, Kyle, Levi, Avonlea, Nathan, Emmy, Tristan, Sarah, Matthew, and Braden; 15 Great Grandchildren, 2 sisters Marge (husband Jim) Foster of Logansport, Indiana, and Pearl Baker of Ohio: 2 brothers Wayne and Roy Watts of Burnettsville, Indiana: numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, Great Great Nieces, Great Great Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
He was also preceded in death by 4 Sisters, Inez Walter, Betty Watts, Annabelle Watts, Nellie Latta; 6 Brothers, Joseph Watts, Ernest “Turk” Watts, John “Buck” Watts, Morris Watts, Warren Watts, and Virgil Watts; 4 Grandchildren, Tyler Geisbert, Autumn Geisbert, Kian Klinkhammer, and Jillian Haskins; 1 Great Grandchild, Kyra Lough; 2 Brother-In-Laws, Eugene Baker, and Mitchell “Mitch” Latta and 1 Sister-In-Law, Betty Watts.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Royal Center Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center.
