Francis Harold Michels

Francis Harold Michels, 61, of Winamac passed away in his residence on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 8:59 p.m.

Born on August 27, 1964, he was the son of Micheal Michels and Sharon (Potts) Michels.

Francis was a Marine veteran having served in the force 150, 1st division as a radio operator.

Francis formerly worked as a Miller Woods Fire Fighter and EMT for 15 years and was also an employee at Smithfield and Tyson.

Survivors include his daughter, Alisa Beguhn; his grandson, Ellery; his sister Abby (John) Cheely; and his brother James (Carrie) Michels.

He was also preceded in death by his father, Michael Michels; his mother Sharon Michels (Potts); and his sister Jessie Smith (Michels).

Francis enjoyed spending time with family and dedicated himself to his nieces and nephews, Daniel, Jill, Michael, Jason, Kristen, Kassie, Kenny, Katie, Jacob, Skylar, Aaron, Stephen and their respective families. His bond to family was something he greatly valued and prided himself on.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date for family and friends.
