Forest 'Ike' O. Denny

Services for Forest O. chr(39)Ikechr(39) Denny, 91, Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Marocco Funeral Chapel.

He died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2007 at his residence.

Born September 10, 1916, in Cass County, he was the son of the late Simon C. and Ruby (Bucks) Denny.  He was married September 10, 1960 to Florence Collins, who survives.

Ike attended school in Royal Center and was a self-employed truck driver in Logansport for 41 years.  His main business was hauling livestock.

He belonged to the Logansport Shrine Club, the Scottish Rite, the Indianapolis Shrine Club,  and the Logansport 33 F & AM Tipton Lodge.

He was also a member of Anoka United Methodist Church.

Ike enjoyed working with horses and loved to plant and enjoy his gardens.

Also surviving are daughters, Cora Mae Bartell and her husband, Kenneth, Elkhart, Carol Brewer and her husband, Keith, Noblesville, and Linda McManus and her husband, John, Logansport; one son, Ron Denny and his wife Kay, Logansport; 29 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren; brothers, Simon Denny Jr., Ben Denny and his wife, Patricia, and Tom Denny and his wife Jan, all of Logansport, and Dick Denny and his wife, Jean, Minnesota; one sister, Leah Mae Lyster, Minnesota; two step-daughters, Sandra Pfaff and her husband, Bob, Rochester,  and Phyllis Drake and her husband, Phil, Illinois; two step-sons, Gaile Collins and his wife, Tonya, North Carolina, and Bill Collins and his wife, Dee, Mississippi; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Two sons, William and Roscoe chr(39)Rockychr(39) Denny, three brothers and two sisters, preceded in death.

Pastor Jim Abbott will officiate at the services.  Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery, Royal Center.

Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel, where a Masonic Lodge service will be conducted at 6 p.m., followed by a Shrine walk through.
