Services for Florence M. Thomas, 82, of Grass Creek, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Grass Creek United Methodist Church, 7219 South State Road 17, Kewanna.
She died at 2:43 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2007 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born March 3, 1925 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Alpharetta (Congdon) Ratcliff. She was a 1943 graduate of Logansport High School.
On May 14, 1944, in Belton, Texas, she married Orville Thomas, he survives.
Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker. She was a member of Grass Creek United Methodist Church and also of the Ladies Aid.
Surviving are her husband, Orville Thomas, Grass Creek; 3 sons, Wayne O. Thomas(Barbara), of Florida, and James W. Thomas(Linda), of Grass Creek, and David L. Thomas(Ruth), of Bennett, Colorado; 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 infant son, 1 grandson James Walter Thomas Jr., 1 brother Carl Ratcliff, and 1 sister Elizabeth Ratcliff.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Homes, Kewanna Chapel, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Pastor Jan Moyer will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Grass Creek Cemetery, Kewanna.
