Donald Guido Casalini, age 86, passed away March 11, 2024 at McLeod Hospital in Little River, SC. Son of the late Guido Casalini and Mary Casalini of Logansport, IN. Don graduated from Logansport High School in 1955.
Don owned his own business, Cass Body Shop, for many years in Fort Wayne, IN. before moving to Florida where he owned his own Fleet Service for many years before retiring and moving to Sunset Beach, N.C.
Don’s greatest joy was his family, spending time together making sure everyone was having a good time. He loved to cook big Italian dinners, spaghetti and meatballs, and homemade sausage. Being in the kitchen cooking with family all around him was when he was the happiest. Don was the most generous person, always helping someone in need. His neighbors all knew where to go to borrow any type of tools they needed. He had them all, saying “take what you need”. His contagious smile had the ability to make strangers welcome. Don will dearly be missed.
Don is preceded in death by his parents Guido and Mary Casalini; and his son Donald Bradley Casalini.
Don is survived by his wife of 31 years Cathey Peeler Casalini; daughter Theresa (Scott) Runge of Hastings, MI; daughter- in-law Dawn Casalini of Lewisville, TX; sisters: Patricia Byers of Osgood, IN, Mary Ann Kelly of Kokomo, IN, and Sophie (Jamie) Rogers of Logansport, IN; brothers: Joseph Casalini of Logansport, IN, Ernie (Sue) Casalini, The Villages, FL, and Tom Casalini of Zionsville, IN; grandchildren: Zachary (Shelby) Runge of Hastings, MI., Stephanie (Derek) Runge of Grand Rapids, MI., Ashley (Bryan) Garcia of Savannah, GA, Brittany Casalini of Lewisville, TX, Cameron (Stephanie) Casalini of Lewisville, TX, Chad Casalini of Phoenix, AZ, Dylan (Laura) Craft of Cherryville, NC, and Macie (Chris) Hipps of Shallotte, NC; great-grandchildren: Clayson and Addison Runge, Beau Garcia, Rylan Casalini, Falcon Casalini, Levi Hipps and Fisher Craft; and stepson Richard (Amanda) Craft of Calabash, NC. Don will be missed dearly by many nieces and nephews who have very “loving memories” of sharing his cooking talents.
A celebration of Life will be held for family on July 20, 2024.
