Delores Snavley

Services for Delores Snavley, 85, of Idaville will be 10:30 a.m. Monday February 18, 2008 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.

She died at 7:30 a.m. Friday February 15, 2008 in her residence.   Born November 19, 1922 in Sitka, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Golda (Coar) Boze.

On April 2, 1949 she married John M. Snavley and he preceded her in death August 4, 2000.

She was a 1941 Graduate and Class Secretary of Buffalo High School.

Delores was a member of White Oak Church, Headlee, where she was a Youth Fellowship Leader and Sunday School Teacher, she was also a Cass Township 4-H Leader for many years, an avid Indiana Pacer and Indiana University Basketball Fan, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, collecting antiques and Barbie dolls and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She retired from Eaton Corporation in Winamac in 1998 after 27 years and was previously employed at Bryan Manufacturing in Monticello for 25 years.   Surviving are 2 daughters, Sue Ann Shaw of Winamac and Sandi Kay Swetnam of Robinson, Texas, sister, Belle Ward of Portage, 4 Grandchildren, Candace Sue Shaw, Thomas E. Shaw, Sarah Ann Shaw and Jonmichael Swetnam and 4 Great Grandchildren, Tyler James Shaw, Alyssa Gabrielle Shaw, Nathaniel Jacob Hallenbeck and Sophia Elizabeth Hallenbeck.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 1 sister Bernice Meltzer.

Pastor Jim Clark will officiate at the services.  Burial will be at Bell Center Cemetery, Idaville.

Friends may call  from 2-6 p.m. Sunday February 17, 2008 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center, Indiana.

Memorial Contributions may be made to White Oak United Methodist Church.
