Charles R. Austin, 85, of Logansport passed away peacefully in his sleep at Miller’s Merry Manor and went to be with his Lord Jesus at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2020.

Born on February 21, 1935 in Lowell, he was the son of the late Homer and Minnie (Reames) Austin.

Charlie was a lifelong mechanic and formerly owned and operated Austin's Garage and Wrecker Service, which he and his father built and started in Logansport in 1949.

He was an avid gun collector. He had a love of cars, which he raced in his younger years, and was passionate about his Catholic Faith.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Austin of Logansport, daughters Cindy Bruce, Terri Holaday, Michele Austin (Brad Hainje) and Tanya Austin, step-daughter Tina (Chris) Hayes, 13 grandchildren, 10 great Grandchildren.  His son-in-law Michael Holaday preceded him in death.

Per Charlie’s wishes there will be no visitation or service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.
