Catherine A. Leslie

Catherine A. Leslie, 80, of Kewanna passed away peacefully at 8:03 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on October 28, 1936 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie (Kretz) Peplansky.

She was a Loyola University graduate of Education and Nursing.

Catherine married Richard Leslie in 1965 and he preceded her in death on Christmas Day in 1980.

She was a former Director of Nursing at Chase Center and Miller’s Merry Manor. Catherine formerly taught nursing classes at Indiana University and Purdue University and was the nurse at Camp Tecumseh for many summers.

She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kewanna and All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport.  Catherine enjoyed stamp collecting, traveling and going to ball games.

Survivors include her daughters, Jean Herd (Ron) of Kewanna and Kathleen Corcoran of Kewanna, brother, Edward Peplansky (Mary Jo) of Illinois and sisters, Arlene “Sue” Karpus of Wisconsin and Mary Ann Busse (Wally) of Wisconsin.  She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Courtney Herd, Savannah Frye, Sierra Frye, Alex Herd, Zachary Herd, Adrienne Frye and Erin Frye and 4 great grandchildren, Rielynn, Alayna, Aubree and Vanesa.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald Peplansky, Joseph Peplansky and William Peplansky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 at All Saints Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the All Saints Catholic Church Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church.

The family would also like to thank Miller’s Merry Manor for the wonderful care that they gave to Catherine.
