Carla Speed

Carla Sue Speed passed away on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at her home of Logansport, Indiana at the age of 62.

Born on April 19th 1963 in Logansport, Indiana. She was a daughter, sister, a friend to many and most importantly she was a hardworking mother and a loving grandmother.

She was also unwavering in her faith. She could cook everything, bake anything, she loved to decorate, she was amazing. She was also the hardest working woman we ever knew.

A single mom who provided and gave her children and grandchildren everything they needed. She loved being a grandma and loved her grandkids dearly she’d always refer to them as Grammies babies. The smile on her face whenever she would see them would show just how proud of them she was.

She is preceded in death by her Mother and Step Father , Eloise and George Starbuck, and her father Carl Speed.

Surviving are her Daughter Mary Speed and Larry Eggers(son Dawson) of Logansport, Indiana. Son Justin and Amy Valenta of Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada. Siblings John and Robin Speed of Goshen, Indiana. Toni and Denny Bernhardt of Cartersville, Georgia. Nieces Jessica, Kristin, Tara, Erika and Megan. Nephews, Jon, Michael, Ryne, and Rian. To her beloved grand children Alaric, Aayden, Tinlee, Leo, and Ellie, Grandma will always love you. You are our Angel. We love you and will miss you Mom. -Love Mary, and Justin.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 16,2025 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be at Deer Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
