Cara Berkshire, 69, of Winamac passed away at her home on Thursday, May 8, 2025. She was born in Logansport on May 21, 1955 to Paul Quillen and Mary (Snoake) Quillen.

She married James Berkshire on February 20, 1982. Together they had two children.

Cara was employed at Pulaski Healthcare Center, Hickory Creek and Peak Community Services. She worked as an activity director and social worker over the years.

In Cara’s free time she enjoyed gardening, watching the birds and spending time with her grandchildren. Cara enjoyed trips to Florida and visiting the ocean. Cara was a true Parrot Head and loved going to Jimmy Buffet concerts. But most of all Cara loved long road trips with her Best Friend and Husband Jim Berkshire. Riding in her convertible with the top down listening to Jimmy Buffet. Cara will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.

Survivors include her husband James; children Josh (Amber) Berkshire of Francesville, IN. and Zachary Berkshire; Addison Berkshire, granddaughter; Clark Berkshire, grandson; Mike (Lisa) Quillen, brother; Patrick (Jenny) Quillen, brother; Mika (Tony) Quillen-Garcia, niece; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by Paul Quillen, father; Mary Quillen, mother; Katie Quillen, sister; Tina Wagoner, sister; Paula Quillen, sister; David Emerson, brother; Margaret Berkshire, mother-in-law; and Charles Berkshire, father-in-law.

There will not be a public service.
