Betty L. (LaVine) Kistler
July 19, 1927 — December 18, 2017
Betty L. Kistler, 90, of Bluffton formerly of Logansport passed away at 4:45 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Born on July 19, 1927 in Jay County, she was the daughter of the late Percy R. and Nilah C. (Reynolds) Smith.
Betty graduated from Redkey High School. On December 11, 1971 she married James A. Kistler who preceded her in death on November 2, 2016.
She retired from a career in retail. She was very fashion conscience and encouraged the girls in the family to pride themselves in their appearance.
Survivors include her son, Daniel R. LaVine (Nora) of Bluffton, her daughter, Carmie Anderson of Liberty Center, sisters, Ghlee A. Dobbins of English and Rita O. Knowles of Poneto. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her grandsons, Nathan LaVine and Andy Anderson.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. . Betty's son Daniel LaVine and Father Dominic Petan will officiate.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
