Angela Kaye (Prater) Ward passed away peacefully at her residence in Rochester, Indiana, on Thursday, May 14, 2026. She was born on August 16, 1971, in Wabash County, Indiana, to Leonard and Francis Mae (Hensley) Prater.

Angela married the love of her life, Earl Gene Ward, Jr., on May 23, 1998. Together, they shared nearly 22 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. The couple enjoyed many shared interests and built a business together, Should’ve Paid Repossession.

Angela was known by her friends as the life of the party. Despite physical challenges resulting from a work accident in her twenties, she never allowed those obstacles to diminish her larger-than-life personality, strength, or spirit.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Gene Ward, Jr.; her father, Leonard Prater; and her mother, Francis Mae (Hensley Prater) Shepherd.

Angela is survived by her brother, Len Prater (companion Kathy Guerin) of North Manchester, Indiana; her brother, Robert Prater (companion Patricia Miller) of Liberty Mills, Indiana; her brother, Samuel Prater (spouse Sarah) of Warsaw, Indiana; and her half-sister, Jessica Harner of Kokomo, Indiana. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
