Leslie J. Kistler, 98 of Logansport passed away at 4:25 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Chase Center in Logansport.
Born on September 29, 1921 in Royal Center, he was the son of the late Paul and Eunice (Spencer) Kistler.
He was a 1940 graduate of Royal Center High School. Leslie was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII.
On December 14, 1946 he married Hazel Dempsey. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2015.
He was a retired union carpenter. Leslie was a member of Crooked Creek Christian Church.
Survivors include his sister in law, Doris Kistler of Royal Center, nieces, Deb Coppernoll (David) of Logansport, Janet Goltry (Greg) of Royal Center, nephews, Michael Kistler (Cheryl) of Royal Center, Jay Kistler (Sandy) of Flora and Dr. Steve Kistler (Cindy) of Noblesville, great nieces and nephews, Nathan Kistler of Greenwood, Kristi Coppernoll of Logansport, Samantha Lucas of Walton, Melissa Ayres of Flora, Kayla Tinsman of Flora, Emily Beaver of Flora, Sarah Franklin of Royal Center, Austin Goltry of Lucerne, Matt Kistler of Noblesville, Jason Kistler of Indianapolis and Jeff Kistler of Indianapolis.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert Kistler and his wife Joan and Jerry Kistler and sister, Virginia Kistler.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center with Pastor Dirk Raderstorf officiating.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday January 7, 2020 at the funeral home.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crooked Creek Christian Church.
